Experience the world through my art. Captivating paintings that will transport you to different places and times
I have been painting for many years starting with water colours, then oils, acrylics and mixed media. Over the years I have changed styles, and become more adventurous with detailed cityscapes. I have had some very successful local exhibitions, and many years ago appeared on Watercolour Challenge, making it through to the final, which greatly enhanced my reputation as a successful artist.
I have always loved travelling, and my art reflects memories of the places I have visited, their atmosphere and culture, from the dramatic views on remote Scottish islands to the hustle and bustle of urban landscapes. I love to try and capture the amazing architecture of cities such as Venice and Barcelona.
I start each painting with an idea of the mood I want it to reflect, whether it be peaceful and tranquil, dark and moody, bright and colourful, bustling with life, or solitary reflection.
I find I get completely lost in the process of creating my vision, and become absorbed until I am happy that the final result conveys the message that I wanted to create
